Need Exemplary Punishment

What people want? Only compensation? and that too in form of money? Will that restore the lives of the 91 patients who had been victims of the devastating fire broke out on Friday? Will that help people forget the entire incident (I should say accident) and come to normal life? No, money can not restore the lives, nor can subdue the anger of those who lost their keens here. The protesters of the horrible accident put up posters in the hospital premises demanding exemplary punishment for its officials.

If anything can boil down the seethed anger of the people that is exemplary punishment. The Govt already took action by cancelling the license of the hospital. The hospital authority realizing the public's fury took shelter by surrendering to the police. But that doesn’t mean the problem has been solved. What more can be taken to show the state or and country that offenders of such incidents should not be Exempted.

AMRI at a Glance

AMRI, Advanced Medical Research Institute shown the world what they could do to ensure safety health. The Friday accident pointed out the loop holes and carelessness existed in the hospital security and how much they were indifferent. The report has shown that the lack of security measures had been there and the insufficient arrangements of fire extinguishing system. The basement floor was covered with medical garbage along with many inflammable materials that should have been expected in the hospital. The local slum dwellers said in front of the press that they were not allowed to go inside to rescue the patents suffering and dying in suffocation. They all were the helpless spectators of the innocent patients there..

Son told to pay dues to see his mother

What can be worse when a son is asked to pay the due to see his dying mother inside the hospital bed? This happened in AMRI hospital on Friday when Biswanath Das asked the guards to let him in to see his mother. The guards did not allow him and asked him to pay the dues to see his mother. As per the guards statement they can’t allow a patient to leave without clearing dues. They did not comment on the point that Mr. Das has asked them let him go in.

"How can a human being say that to another?" Das keeps asking himself. "How can anyone be so insensitive? If I had been allowed in, I just might have rescued my mother. For all you know, she might have been alive when I was arguing with the guard at the hospital. It was 5am," he said.

Mr. Das said that he could not stay at home when he heard the accident and rushed to the hospital. He had already paid 70,000 and he could not carry the remaining 15,000 when news spread. His first aim was to rescue his mother from the ablaze hospital. He even pleaded the guards to let him rescue his mother and he would pay the rest 15,000. But the guards did not listen to his pray nor did they take action to rescue the mother. The old and 60-year-old mother gasped her last breaths on Bed No. 2319 inside the hospital. None could rescue her but let her die helplessly.

New born found in a shopping bag

A new born baby girl was found in a bag of the Members of the Gospel Presbyterian Church in Schaumburg. The members of the Gospel Presbyterian Church found a green canvas bag on the hood of their car with a teddy bear and a towel. When they turned the bag over they found a new born baby crying from the inside of the wrapped towel.

The baby was tacked underneath the teddy bear with the towel and the baby seems of Asian ethnicity in good health. The baby was of 7 pound and was of a few days old. The Illinois Department of Children and Family Services will take custody of the baby as Illinois is called “Safe Heaven” for new borns. The parents are allowed to drop their child if they are unable to maintain the child properly.

The Hospital officials told Schaumburg police that the baby seemed was not born in a hospital because of the length of the unclamped umbilical cord. Though the Government has requested to contact them who has any news of the baby.

Crime Reporter Jyotirmoy Dey’s Murder Case - A new light

The murder case of the crime reporter of English Tabloid “Mid Day”, Jyotirmoy Dey has been heavy to the Mumbai Police. They had to suffer a lot to collect the proper information and to crack down the accused 7 persons. According to the statement of Mumbai Police Commissioner, they had formed a team of 22 members and assigned them to crack down the case. “The case generated a tremendous amount of outrage and pressure on the crime branch. The entire force, right down to a constable did nothing but concentrate on the case”. Another tremendous pressure was to update the media with whatever progress had been each day.

Three police inspectors, four assistant police inspectors and 15 other stuff members formed the core crime branch teams and operate our operation to crack down the case. The team divided into 3 teams and work day and night to crack the case. They had to spend many sleepless nights before they could arrest the 7 killers. After committing the crime they split up from Mumbai and started travelling the temple towns.

The police came to know that underworld don Chhota Rajan was behind the murder and he hired the 7 persons to kill the reporter. The leader or shooter of the 7 person team, Rohit Thangappan alias Kalya had planned the case, though he had been provided all necessary information and bike number by Rajan.

The actual motive of murder is not clear yet, but the information collected till day, indicates that Mr. Dey had an appointment with the aide of Dowood Ibrahim in England in his last visit. Rajan suspected that Mr. Dey had passed much information about him to D-Company and therefore Rajan had planned so. All these are not clear yet but police has assumed this after interrogating the 7 persons.

He has started his hunger strike to protest Govt’s law against corruption and black money beneath the giant marquee at the Ramlila Grounds. What will Japan do after this earthquake?

The earthquake has drastically affected Japan. More than 1000 people have lost their houses and assets. Relief has come from all over the world. But that is not enough to restore the usual life there. The nuclear plants have been worse affected by the Tsunami and have caused 3 explosions also. The news of gas leaking has created a panic in the neighbor counties and people have started evacuating the area quickly. The rumor of this has spread more quickly than the actual fact. Japan is a well known country for its economical strength and technology. For that reason it has been able to avoid more casualties than Indonesia. Therefore the help has come less than what Indonesia had received then.

That is not the intension of this discussion. What would be the main target of Japan at this moment? Will it be more conscious of such calamities in future? Or will wait for more help from other countries? Of course it will get huge financial help from western countries for rehabilitation and reconstruction. But that would not help to restore the regular life. The country is now facing huge financial problem and unemployment. So, restoration of normal life will take a little more time. The country faced such destructive earthquake needs time restore the normal life. Meanwhile the Govt has started resuming the work of the power plant. Now the question comes of its restoration. The entire country is run by nuclear power. But most of the nuclear plants have failed to work after the Tsunami. The country has declared its nuclear emergency after a cooling system failed to work. According to nuclear power run Japan emergency policy, the emergency should be declared if any cooling system does not function properly.

Japan also appealed to the other countries for help. The Tsunami hit country has appealed “Help those affected by the earthquake in Japan. We are accepting donations to support our online support efforts in Japan and worldwide. Please donate to help survivors of this emergency.”
