If sherlock ‘Homes can have a museum to himself, why not our very own Feluda?? That’s the thought that struck UK based neurologist Soumit Dasgupta. He has planned to create a virtual museum for Feluda. His plan has now taken a shape of a mission with global community of Feluda fans joining hands to realize the dream project.
As the idea continued to dwell in Dasgupta’s mind, he used the Feluda fan club on a social networking site as a sounding board. The response was overwhelming with people from all over the globe keen on the initiative. The response encouraged him and made him realized that Feluda indeed is the most popular of all detectives in Bengali literature.
Sujoy Bbhoumik from Cambridge and US citizen Subha Ganguly were among those who expressed keenness to join the initiative. To start with, they have decided to set up a website to display ‘memorabilia’ from Feluda exploits. Soumendu Das Munshi, a Kolkata-based techie has been appointed to create a full-fledged portal on Feluda
The virtual collection on the current website (********** ) includes an expensive collection of Feluda – From Sonar Kella to Samaddarer Chabi, from Royal Bengal Rahosshya to Jata kando Kathmandute..All the adventurous events are there to quench the readers thirst.
Mean while the team is creating a charitable trust, Feluda Incorporation, for donations to fund the museum. Sandip Roy, the great son of the great detective creator has stretched his helping hands to give it a perfect shape.
