A small girl walked into the world arena and won. This is how an eleven year old Priyanshi Somani showed her skill and extra ordinary mental prowess by winning the Mental Mathematical Calculation World Cup, 2010.

The competition was organized in Madgeburg city of Germany on June 7 and 8. She attended the competition and won by beating 37 contestants from 16 countries. She scored the highest in mental square root calculation and beat her two Spanish competitors MarcJornet and Alberto Coto Garcia.

Awards in each category like identifying days based on cue of a date were also given. Priyanshi was the overall winner for the fastest calculations and was awarded a trophy and a medal.

The mathematicians at the University of Leipzing Ralf Laue have set up the questions where a contestant is to answer all the different task categories like addition, subtraction, multiplication, extraction of square roots and even calculating the day of the week for a given date and Priyanshi managed to answer all the questions faster than a calculator.
